Exploring Outside The Box
Over the past year, children have been trapped inside a physical and metaphorical box, from Zoom grids to 5km circles, pods, and classroom bubbles.
This project, which takes place over a series of six workshops, aims to encourage the pupils of Cahergal N.S. to explore beyond the ‘box’. Led by their ideas, experiences, and reimagining of local landmarks, they will collaboratively create fantastical fun narratives inspired by escapism. This project will be facilitated by Galway based artists Jojo Hynes, Kathy Ross, Midie Corcoran and Jennifer Cunningham.
Participants will experiment with materials, journey with storytelling, and play through performance, while four artists will help them curate what they would like to present in a public exhibition. The exhibition will be available to view online on County Galway’s Creative Ireland Facebook page, and will also be on show in the windows of Tuam Library on June 12th.
